The National Puerto Rican Day parade in New York
was started back in 1958. And on this beautiful day on Manhattans fifth avenue
there can be no question about the popularity of this event. The shear number
of Puerto Ricans, other Latinos, and New Yorkers in general living in the New
York metropolitan area came to be awed by this Latin spectacular. The prediction was for more floats this year. It just seem endless as they kept coming. An expected ten thousand participants, and on-lookers estimated at three million, lined the side walk of Manhattan's fifth avenue to take in the Latin flavor. I couldn't help but observe the countless sponsors as float after float went by. As an aside. I was at Best Buys over here in Philly about two weeks ago. Here every Isle and product shelf, had a corresponding Spanish translation. They're here, count 'em!
