The Polished Hoe
If you haven't read Austin Clark you're in for some delightful reading.
This Barbadian expatriate now living in Canada is a real pleasure to
read. This piece titled The Polished Hoe is winner of many prizes
including the
Giller Prize and The Commonwealth writers prize for
best book. Set in the
West Indies in the period following World War II,
the polished Hoe is enjoyable reading.
