Caribana 2003

This the thirty-sixth anniversary of Caribana carnival, Toronto International Carnival. "Caribana" is now solidly in the ranks of North American events. Caribana is an eighteen day carnival experience, demonstrating Caribbean carnival at it's best with an exhausting program of Caribbean people show-pride, (arts and crafts)

It is significant that in a break down of the racial and ethnic demographics of Ontario, the major groups are of English and other European extracts. Behind these are Chinese and East Indians, while the Caribbean people fall into the category of [others].

But come the summer months from mid-July to early August the Caribbean people looms largely. With the start of the Caribana carnival, Toronto knows we are here. It's much more than a Carnival folks! Toronto International Carnival: Caribana 2004

'Taste of Caribana.' Dundas square at Younge street was ground zero on the eve of Caribana parade.

It is not my intention to pester you with my likes or dislikes but at the 'Parade of the Bands,'
aah! I couldn't get enough of this [engineered] piece of creative work. Part of Terry Skinner's
"Masqueraders International."

Not to take any thing from the God-given 'hottie' that was towing it around. Given the size of
this ornament I was surprise at the ease in which she moved around. Add a nicely detailed
topography and complimentary color scheme. Needless to say, artistic taste is a personal
thing.
Take a look.
