"The improvement of understanding is for two ends: first our own improvement of
knowledge, secondly to enable us to deliver that knowledge to others."

~John Locke~

The-Melting pot is an informed web site. A unique space in cyber land defined by a photographic
experience, a muse of Philadelphia history and traditional cultural events. Featured, is popular
cultural events in other cities in  the North Eastern United states. New York Caribbean culture is
also a feature of this site.

Our mission statement: Explore Philadelphia history, cultural events, the American Northeast, and general Caribbean culture, Barbados in particular.

Every attempt is made here to deliver useful information on health and social issues. Here we'll
also explore Issues of mass media technology.

In the "Good books and movies," pages, we'll share with you books, mainly in the social category
that inform and enlighten, plus other categories.

What do you think about current events? I'll try to put in my two cents in a monthly commentary,
on issues Caribbean and American.

In this great American melting pot, this mosaic––salad bowl––we'll experience the fascinating
history of the struggles and achievements of immigrant life in the good books and neighbors. Little
do most of us realize what we can learn from one another. After all, we do live in a melting pot––
some would say a salad bowl––not in a bottle.
